TRE® Training 2026–2027

Professional TRE® Certification Training

2026–2027

Train as a Certified TRE® Provider

in Dublin with Susan Porter

TRE Dublin is delighted to offer a structured one-year pathway towards becoming a Certified TRE® Provider.

This training combines experiential learning, personal practice, mentoring, supervision, and teaching experience to support participants in developing the knowledge, skills, confidence, and professional competence required to facilitate TRE® safely with both individuals and groups.

TRE® (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) is a body-based approach that supports the nervous system's natural capacity to release stress, tension, and patterns of overwhelm. Through a simple series of exercises, participants learn how to safely access neurogenic tremors—an innate biological mechanism that supports regulation, resilience, and wellbeing.

As awareness of nervous system health continues to grow, TRE® offers an accessible, practical, and empowering approach that can be integrated into therapeutic, healthcare, educational, coaching, wellness, and community settings.

This training is designed not only to teach a method, but to support participants in developing a deeper understanding of the body, the nervous system, self-regulation, and the body's innate capacity for restoration and balance

What is TRE®?

TRE® (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) was developed by Dr David Berceli following years of research and observation into how the human body responds to stress, challenge, and recovery.

The method consists of a series of simple exercises that gently fatigue specific muscle groups and invite the body's natural tremoring response.

These neurogenic tremors are understood to be an innate biological mechanism that can help discharge accumulated stress and muscular tension.

Rather than something we create, TRE® works with something the body already knows how to do.

Many mammals naturally shake after stressful events. Humans possess the same capacity, although we often learn to suppress these responses. TRE® provides a safe and structured way to reconnect with this natural process.

Participants learn how to engage with tremoring gradually and safely while developing greater awareness of their own nervous system responses and self-regulation capacities.

TRE® is not about analysing problems or revisiting difficult experiences. Instead, it offers a practical way to develop a relationship with the body's natural intelligence and capacity for balance

Training Structure

The training is delivered over one year and consists of:

Module 1

28–30 August 2026

Module 2

29–31 January 2027

Participants receive comprehensive training manuals and learning materials for both modules.

Students will be supported through:

• Monthly online group supervision

• One-to-one mentoring sessions

• Teaching practice with individuals

• Teaching practice with groups

• Personal TRE® practice

• Written assignments

• Ongoing feedback and support

This structure allows participants to integrate their learning gradually while developing confidence, competence, and experience in facilitating TRE®.

About Susan Porter

Susan Porter is a Certified TRE® Trainer, Provider, and Mentor.

TRE® has been a profoundly meaningful part of Susan's own personal and professional journey. The benefits she has experienced through her own practice continue to inspire her teaching, mentoring, and clinical work.

Alongside her work with TRE®, Susan has spent more than twenty years exploring and teaching Yoga, Somatic Movement Education, and embodied approaches to health and wellbeing. She is also trained as a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist and has extensive experience supporting individuals and groups through processes of self-discovery, nervous system regulation, and personal growth.

Susan has assisted on TRE® Certification Trainings for more than six years and has mentored trainees throughout the certification process. Her teaching combines practical experience, trauma-informed understanding, and a deep respect for the body's innate wisdom.

Susan is also a professional singer and performer with a lifelong interest in the relationship between voice, expression, embodiment, and wellbeing.

Her exploration of voice extends beyond performance into an ongoing personal practice of vocal development, sound, breath, posture, and self-expression. Through this work she has become increasingly interested in the relationship between the voice and the nervous system, and how sound can support regulation, expression, connection, and release.

Susan's teaching is informed by an appreciation that wellbeing is not only about what we think, but also about how we breathe, move, feel, express ourselves, and inhabit our bodies. She is particularly interested in how people develop the confidence to find their own authentic voice and create greater freedom in both body and mind.

At the heart of Susan's work is a simple intention: helping people discover greater resilience, self-awareness, ease, and inner peace.

Susan lives and works in Dublin and continues to draw inspiration from the sea, mountains, music, movement, and the natural landscapes that surround her.

Sound, Voice and the Nervous System

TRE® primarily works through the body's natural tremoring mechanism and the development of greater nervous system awareness and self-regulation.

While voice and vocal expression are not a formal part of the TRE® curriculum, many people notice changes in their breathing, vocal expression, and sense of self-expression as they become more connected to their bodies through practice.

Susan's background as a yoga teacher, somatic movement educator, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist, and professional singer has given her a particular interest in the relationship between the nervous system, breath, posture, movement, and voice. As a result, themes relating to sound, expression, communication, and finding one's authentic voice may occasionally arise within the wider context of her teaching.

The voice is closely connected to the body. Changes in breathing patterns, muscle tone, posture, and emotional state can all influence how we sound and how we express ourselves. Likewise, many people discover that becoming more regulated and embodied can influence their confidence, communication, and capacity for authentic expression.

Simple sounds such as humming, sighing, or gentle vocalisation can naturally arise as the body settles and relaxes. For some people, these experiences become part of a broader exploration of self-awareness and self-expression.

TRE® itself does not teach vocal techniques. However, participants may become increasingly aware of the relationship between body, breath, sound, expression, and nervous system regulation as their personal practice develops.

Begin Your TRE® Journey

This training offers more than a professional qualification.

It is an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the nervous system, develop embodied facilitation skills, and learn a practical approach that can support people in navigating stress, tension, and the challenges of modern life.

Through personal practice, mentoring, supervision, and teaching experience, participants are supported to develop confidence, competence, and a grounded understanding of TRE® as both a personal and professional practice.

We look forward to welcoming you into the TRE® Dublin training community.
